Simon Banza
Simon Banza spoke exclusively to Afrik-Foot. The Congolese striker opened up about the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Ahead of two crucial qualifiers—against South Sudan this Friday and Senegal on September 9—for the 2026 World Cup, Simon Banza gave an exclusive interview to Afrik-Foot. It was an opportunity for the DR Congo forward to reflect on his debut Africa Cup of Nations in 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire.
"It was amazing! It was my first AFCON. The organization was fantastic, families came to support us, everything went well. It's truly an incredible experience. Representing your country is a powerful feeling." he said, before turning his attention to the next tournament.
"I'm expecting a great run from my team. We've got top players, real talents playing in big clubs. We have nothing to envy from the best nations, especially in recent years, and the coach (Sébastien Desabre) is doing an outstanding job. I'm confident. I can't wait for it to start. Especially in Morocco, a fantastic country. It's going to go well." he added.
Congolese fans can already expect something big.
