We now know the identities of the four best third-placed teams who have secured their ticket to the round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).

They are Sudan, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Benin.

The final ranking of the best third-placed teams at CAN 2025 is as follows:

Group F – Mozambique: 2 matches, 1 win, 0 draws, 1 loss, 3 goals scored, 3 goals conceded, goal difference 0, 3 points – Qualified for the knockout stage.

Group E – Sudan: 2 matches, 1 win, 0 draws, 1 loss, 1 goal scored, 3 goals conceded, goal difference −2, 3 points.

Group D – Benin: 3 matches, 1 win, 0 draws, 2 losses, 1 goal scored, 4 goals conceded, goal difference −3, 3 points.

Group C – Tanzania: 3 matches, 0 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss, 3 goals scored, 4 goals conceded, goal difference −1, 2 points.

The group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025) will come to a close this Wednesday, December 31, with the final matchday for Groups E and F.

Two showdowns are expected in Group E, with Algeria taking on Equatorial Guinea on one side, and Sudan facing Burkina Faso on the other.

In Group F, Cameroon will go head-to-head with Mozambique, while Côte d’Ivoire will take on Gabon.
