Tunisia’s head coach, Sami Trabelsi, has just unveiled the 28-man squad set to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).
Below is a look at the main players omitted from Tunisia’s latest squad in the run-up to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Shakhtar Donetsk defender could have been a reliable option for coach Sami Trabelsi, who is expected to opt for a three-man backline at the CAN.
Alaa Ghram has featured in seven matches this season, without scoring or providing an assist.
For the record, he has played six games for the Carthage Eagles. His last appearance dates back to last June, in a 0-2 defeat against Morocco.
The 24-year-old midfielder made a strong impression with his club CD Nacional during the 2025-2026 season.
He took part in 11 matches in the Portuguese league, though he failed to find the back of the net.
A former U20 national team captain, Chihab Laâbidi is considered one of the brightest prospects in Tunisian football.
The young winger could have added the much-needed spark to a Tunisian squad lacking effective wide players.
The new Paris Saint-Germain signing featured in two matches in the Premier League International Cup U21, facing Newcastle and Chelsea, and managed to score just one goal.
