With Mike Maignan increasingly unlikely to sign a new contract, Milan are looking to the future, with Elia Caprile and Zion Suzuki among the candidates.
Maignan’s current deal only runs to the end of the season and negotiations have been at a standstill for months, despite the rejection of a proposal from Chelsea over the summer.
Expecting to lose their first choice as a free agent in June, the Rossoneri know they must look around from now to find a suitable replacement and get ahead of the curve.

Parma and Japan international goalkeeper Suzuki has already been mentioned as a prime candidate for the gloves at San Siro next term.
However, Calciomercato.com claim that the interest in Caprile is surging fast, sending him into pole position.
The 24-year-old spent time at Chievo, Leeds United, Pro Patria and Bari before joining Napoli in 2023.
He went on loan to Empoli and Cagliari, before the sale to the Sardinians for €8m in July 2025.
