Serie A giants Roma have been linked with a move for Carlo Ancelotti in the last few weeks but the Real Madrid boss has played down the rumours.

Ancelotti recently spoke to Rai 2 about his situation and his future as manager. He was asked about the rumours surrounding Roma and he gave a very clear response about it, while also praising current manager Claudio Ranieri for the good job he has done so far in the stint.

He said, as relayed by ForzaRoma: “I have beautiful memories, what the future will be I don’t know. For now I’m fine here, I have a contract and I can’t be a coach all my life. Ranieri is a great coach, a strategist and he reads the environment well, It’s not a surprise the good he’s doing. I have doubts that he will stop.”

Reports had previously suggested that Ranieri has already spoken to Ancelotti about hiring the compatriot at the Giallorossi but for now, it seems as if the Real Madrid boss will stay at the Bernabeu.

Ranieri has impressed at Roma so far and since his arrival, no club has picked up more points than the Giallorossi since the Italian became their manager after the exit of Ivan Juric. The Roman giants are still at 9th in the table and have work to do, but things are looking positive.
