Carlo Ancelotti said Neymar will be available for Brazil’s World Cup Group C finale against Scotland, scheduled overnight from Wednesday to Thursday with a midnight kick-off. The forward missed the first two matches with a calf injury.
Brazil beat Haiti 3-0 on Friday. After that win, Ancelotti set out a plan for Neymar to train alone on Saturday, then rejoin full training on Monday ahead of the Scotland fixture.
The 34-year-old has been sidelined for several weeks and has not played since 17 May.
Team-mate Vinicius has led the side early in the tournament and welcomed the prospect of Neymar’s return. He considers the playmaker vital and hopes he can feature next time to aid their push for the cup.
Neymar was influential in qualifying when fit, producing two goals and three assists in only four appearances. Ancelotti did not provide an update on Raphinha’s injury.
