Carlos Vinícius leads the Campeonato Brasileiro scoring chart with six in eight. He also scored in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Vasco da Gama after heavy rotation, with Grémio sitting eighth under Luís Castro.

According to Glorioso 1904, the former Benfica striker played for the club from 2019 to 2022, scoring 24 and supplying 10 assists in 47 matches, and he finished joint top scorer in the 2019/20 Liga with 19 alongside Pizzi and Mehdi Taremi.

Benfica signed him from Nápoles for €17 million in the summer of 2019 after loans at Rio Ave and Mónaco. When Jorge Jesus returned to the club, he left on loan to Tottenham for 2020/21.

He posted strong numbers under José Mourinho at Tottenham, then after the Portuguese coach was dismissed he moved on loan to PSV, before a permanent sale to Fulham in September 2022 for €five million.

Now at Grémio, and having been involved in controversy, he joined on a free from Marco Silva’s team in July last year. He has started fast and remains in form.
