Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali has opened up on the club’s negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for centre-forward Randal Kolo Muani, admitting that there is still a fair amount of difference between the asking price and the offer, and that it would not be right for the club to ‘just’ focus on the Frenchman.

For several weeks, reports in Italy have linked Juventus with a move for Kolo Muani, who had a successful spell on loan with the Old Lady in the second half of the 2024-25 season, scoring eight goals from 16 Serie A appearances.

Last week, reports claimed that Juventus had seen an offer of a loan deal with a potential obligation to buy for a total cost of €33m turned down and that PSG were holding out for a fee of €40m.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, Carnevali has confirmed that there is still a significant amount of difference between Juve’s offer and PSG’s asking price, and that the Bianconeri are considering several other profiles in attack.

“For Kolo Muani, the demands have not been lowered and we have not increased the proposal, but we are working hard on it,” Carnevali told Sky (via Gianluca Di Marzio).

He admitted: “I wouldn’t just focus on him. If there is a big difference, we have to make the right assessments. We’re trying to do the best thing.”

Carnevali also confirmed that he did not meet with Vlahovic to discuss a potential contract extension and that Alexander Sorloth is among the potential alternatives to Kolo Muani: “We didn’t meet with him (Vlahovic). The doors aren’t only open for Sorloth, but also for other players.”

Carnevali also spoke about Juve’s interest in Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, confirming: “We will have to wait. Martinez interests us, but he’s also an interesting profile for a lot of other teams. There will be lots of opportunities. There are players who are already rated highly and those who we should keep a close eye on.”
