Carolina Simões extends Benfica contract until 2028 | OneFootball

Benfica have secured the future of 18-year-old defender Carolina Simões, who has signed a professional deal until 2028. Rui Costa finalised the agreement.

Simões is currently in pre-season with the first team after impressing across the club’s youth set-up. The extension reflects the progress of the youth international in recent seasons.

"It is a source of pride, an immense happiness to continue representing this club, which is also the club of my heart. I am very happy and grateful to the club for this opportunity," she told BTV.

"It has been a long relationship. I have been here for some years and I have loved it, which is why I am so happy and proud to keep representing this club. This was one of the steps I wanted to take and now there are others I want to achieve, and I will work for them."

The new deal marks another step on her pathway towards the first team as she continues her development within Benfica’s senior environment.
