Caroline Weir has left Real Madrid to join OL Lyonnes, signing a contract through June 2029.

As reported by L'Équipe, the Scotland captain, aged 30, arrives on a free for the reigning French champions.

She joined the Spanish side in 2022 after a spell at Manchester City. Weir became their leading scorer with 63 goals in 125 matches, including 20 goals and eight assists in 40 outings this season.

The forward has 102 caps and 17 goals for Scotland.

She will add experience as Les Fenottes target a repeat of the 2025-26 domestic treble of league, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue. OL Lyonnes also aim to return to the European summit and will try to win the Champions League, last lifted in 2022.
