Carrick named Premier League Manager of the Month | OneFootball

Michael Carrick has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for January 2026.

The Manchester United head coach has made an incredible impact since stepping into the role at Old Trafford, quickly turning around the mood among supporters after a difficult spell under previous boss Ruben Amorim.

Carrick took charge in mid-January following Amorim's departure and wasted no time in delivering results. His side secured impressive wins against the league's top two teams: a solid 2-0 victory in the Manchester derby over Manchester City, followed by a thrilling 3-2 comeback win away at Arsenal.

Carrick emerged as the winner from a shortlist that included Sean Dyche, Andoni Iraola, and Liam Rosenior, based on a combination of fan votes and input from a panel of experts.

This accolade makes him one of just seven interim managers to ever claim the award, and only the second from Manchester United - following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's win back in January 2019. He's also the first English manager to receive the honour since Sean Dyche claimed it with Everton in April 2024.
