Starting with right-back Carvajal, who suffered a serious knee injury at the weekend:

‘The club reports that he is expected to undergo surgery on Thursday or Friday. Those close to the player believe that Dr Manuel Leyes will be the one to operate on him, as is usual with many of Madrid’s injured players.’

Next, on attacker Brahim, who picked up an adductor injury just shy of a month ago:

‘He has started running on the pitch.’

Turning attentions towards Blancos summer signing Kylian Mbappé, left out of France’s latest national team squad amid efforts to recover full fitness:

‘He has done specific work today.’

And last up, regarding defender Éder Militão, sent home by Brazil after reporting for duty nursing a slight muscular issue:

‘He will undergo fresh tests tomorrow.’
