Casillas omits Mourinho from list of 10 Real Madrid candidates | OneFootball

Iker Casillas has named 10 potential candidates for the Real Madrid job and left out Benfica coach José Mourinho, according to Glorioso 1904.

The former Madrid goalkeeper had recently made clear he did not favour Mourinho returning, while stressing there is no personal conflict.

In a post, he put forward Unai Emery, Vincent Kompany, Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fàbregas, Mikel Arteta, Andoni Iraola, Zidane, José Bordalás, Iñigo Pérez and Del Bosque as viable options for the immediate future.

Mourinho’s omission drew attention, as the Benfica manager has been touted as one of the leading candidates to return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Casillas and Mourinho previously worked together at Real Madrid, a period of trophies and internal tension that created friction. In 2012 Casillas lost his starting place, a call made by Mourinho, which marked the start of a more complex relationship.
