CBF has adjusted the 2026 season calendar because of the World Cup, creating an extra domestic registration window in March. According to Coluna Do Fla, the change could benefit clubs finalising squads.
Clubs received a CBF handbook before the campaign, setting the international transfer period to end on three March. A separate 'Janela dos Estaduais' then allows signings and registrations of Brazil-based players from four to 27 March, letting teams scan the local market longer.
Flamengo's current priority is a forward, so the Rio side are weighing European options while monitoring domestic standouts.
In this first window, Flamengo have already moved. Centre-back Vitão arrived first, followed by goalkeeper Andrew, and the club have since repatriated midfielder Lucas Paquetá.
While recruitment work continues off the pitch, the squad turn to their next assignment. Flamengo face Madureira on Sunday 22 at 20:30, Brasília time, at the Maracanã.
