Celtic are in talks to sign Qarabag forward Camilo Duran, according to Sky Sports.

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill wants new attackers at Parkhead this summer and the Bhoys want to bring Duran to the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops boss is reportedly a keen admirer of Motherwell striker Tawanda Maswanhise, but nothing has happened so far.

It appears Celtic will not be making a move for the Zimbabwean and are looking to sign his Qarabag counterpart.

Duran bagged 15 goals and 10 assists last term and could be open to joining the Bhoys.

The 24-year-old has two years left on his deal and both clubs are in negotiations.

The future of Kelechi Iheanacho despite his heroics for the Bhoys in the Scottish Premiership last term is unclear.

The Nigerian is unlikely to have his loan deal turned into a permanent deal, and Duran is now the top target for Celtic.

He notched five goals and one assist in 10 Champions League appearances, finding the back of the net against the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt, Benfica, Ajax and Newcastle United in the elite European competition.

While the Hoops target is primarily a number 9, Duran can also play on the right wing, and O’Neill could do with his quality and experience.

The Azerbaijan Premier League is not a high-level league, but the Colombian proved his quality against some top clubs in Europe last term.

Celtic need such a player to impress in the Champions League next season, and he will fancy his chances of also hitting the ground running in Scotland.
