Celtic are reportedly interested in making a summer move for West Brom defender George Campbell.
West Brom will be in the process of making plans for the 2026-27 campaign after securing their second tier status under James Morrison.
A goalless draw against promotion-chasing Ipswich Town was enough to get the Black Country outfit over the line in their quest for survival, while Albion may be walking away slightly disappointed that they didn’t take maximum points at The Hawthorns.
Albion knew a point would confirm their stay in the second tier after the EFL deducted the Baggies two points for breaching P&S rules, with this outcome galvanising Morrison’s men, who showed so much heart and desire to go toe-to-toe with one of the league’s best teams.
And from such a remarkable turnaround, the Baggies legend has been made the permanent head coach at The Hawthorns, penning a two-year contract and hopeful of getting the club back towards the top end of the Championship table next season.
His first game in permanent charge of the side wouldn’t have gone as he intended though, as the Baggies’ 10-game unbeaten run was brought to an end at Sheffield Wednesday, with the visitors falling to a 2-1 defeat in front of a raucous Hillsborough crowd.
Alas, the result makes no difference to the Black Country outfit, who remain in the Championship, but have to ensure a season like this isn’t repeated.
Of course, as the summer transfer window draws closer, speculation will be rife about both arrivals and departures, as the Baggies prepare for somewhat of a rebuild.
But some interest has emerged in a standout player that the Baggies are sure to not want to lose, with Albion fans bound to be concerned this exit makes the squad a lot weaker.

As per a report by CeltsAreHere, it has been reported Scottish giants Celtic are weighing up a summer move for West Brom defender George Campbell.
Celtic are believed to have held discussions over making a move for the American international, which is a position they are desperate to fill after an injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The report also states Albion would be interested in letting Campbell leave for £2.5m, who still has three years left on his current deal at The Hawthorns.
It is also believed Campbell has interest from other top Championship clubs and the Bundesliga, so a battle may be emerging for his signature heading into the summer.

In what has been a miserable season for all connected at West Brom, George Campbell has been one of the standout stars, particularly through Albion’s revival under James Morrison.
In his debut season in English football, Campbell was first asked to play out of position at right-back with Ryan Mason at the helm, impressing despite his most comfortable position on the pitch being at the heart of the defence.
After the chopping and changing of managers from Mason and Eric Ramsay, Morrison stuck Campbell in the middle of the backline, partnering him with Nat Phillips, and the duo went on to play a huge part in the Baggies keeping six clean sheets in seven games before their defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on the final day.
It seems like the Baggies and Morrison have a defensive duo to build around heading into next season, but those plans could well be blown out the water if the club negotiates a sale.
In addition, £2.5m seems a very cheap price to see Campbell depart, particularly when he has three years left on his deal and can go from strength-to-strength given his strong first impression in the second tier.
It’s a deal many West Brom supporters will not be pleased to see if it gets over the line, with Albion set to be a lot weaker at the back should the American make a swift exit.
