Celtic will bid to take another step closer to the Scottish Premiership title when Dundee visit Parkhead this evening.
Brendan Rodgers’ side can move 13 points clear of nearest challengers Rangers with three points. It’s shaping up to be a memorable campaign for Celtic, who have also reached the Champions League’s knockout rounds for the first time since 2012/13. Bayern Munich await the Scottish side in the play-off round.
The visitors this evening are desperately battling to beat the drop. Dundee are 10th in the table, just a point above Ross County in the Premiership promotion/relegation play-off spot.
Rodgers has an almost clean bill of health in his squad. James Forrest it the only absentee for Celtic as the veteran recovers from an injury sustained in December.
Jota made his second debut for Celtic and scored off the bench at the weekend but is likely to be eased into action. The 25-year-old rejoined Celtic in an £8.4m deal from Rennes in the winter window. He is aiming to rebuild his fitness after difficult spells in Saudi Arabia and France since leaving Celtic.
Adam Idah should get the nod to lead the line after scoring three goals in his last two appearances. That includes a brace in the Champions League defeat at Aston Villa.
Celtic predicted XI: Schmeichel; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; McCowan, McGregor, Hatate; Kuhn, Idah, Maeda.
Celtic host Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday 5th February 2025. Kick-off at Celtic Park is 20:00 GMT.
