A Corinthians council meeting on Monday was abandoned amid a row between president Osmar Stabile and chair Romeu Tuma Júnior, with the Censo do Timão a flashpoint.
According to Meu Timao, Stabile told councillors Tuma had threatened him on Friday at Parque São Jorge, then took the claim to the club’s Ethics and Discipline Commission. He also objected to numerous information requests from Tuma, including a 30-question memo on the census.
The 30 questions began with a 27 February request from councillor Gilson Teixeira to Tuma, three days after the campaign launched on 24 February. He called the database strategically important, stressed compliance with data law, and posed 10 questions across five themes.
On 6 March Tuma sent Stabile a memo echoing those points, listing Teixeira’s 10 queries and adding 20 gathered informally from councillors and members. He asked for written replies to the Conselho Deliberativo.
The project followed a marketing approach to FanBase, a fan data specialist whose clients include 16 Brazilian clubs, the São Paulo federation and the WSL. A 90-day, project-only deal, at no cost, cleared marketing, tech, legal, compliance and the DPO, and keeps data control with the club, with FanBase storing and using it only with prior approval.
Corinthians sees the census as a first step towards a data lake and informed OneFan, operator of Fiel Torcedor and Universo SCCP. By Saturday more than 38,000 fans had responded, with an 83% completion rate. The questions are set to be answered, with no timeline.
