Cesc Fàbregas’ Como are the latest club to express an interest in the signing of Elche star Rodrigo Mendoza.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing market insider Ekrem Konur, who has confirmed that the race for the young midfielder is beginning to heat up.

Mendoza has for his part spent the early weeks of the new campaign continuing to build on his reputation as a potential star in the making.

Still just 20 years of age, the youngster has taken to the rigours of top-flight football with relative ease, looking at home in Elche’s engine room setup.

With such form, though, comes inevitable outside interest…

As per a report from MD, a new suitor have positioned themselves in the running for Mendoza’s services.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park, Serie A high-flyers Como have added the Spaniard to their list.

Compatriot Cesc Fàbregas, it is claimed, views Mendoza as the ideal addition to his midfield.

Back in the player’s home country, meanwhile, both Villarreal and Real Sociedad are also continuing to keep a close eye on his development.
