The Champions League finalists reported to Clairefontaine on Tuesday morning as France began World Cup preparations, with Paris Saint-Germain’s players heading out to train and William Saliba staying indoors.

According to L'Équipe, the Paris Saint-Germain group, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Lucas Hernandez, Bradley Barcola and Warren Zaïre-Emery, plus Arsenal defender William Saliba, were greeted by Didier Deschamps. They then tried on their France team suits and lunched with President Emmanuel Macron and FFF president Philippe Diallo.

The day’s training was set for 17:00. Managing back pain that has troubled him for several weeks, Saliba worked indoors with a physio.

The former Saint-Étienne defender had suffered after Saturday’s final, drawn 1-1 then lost 3-4 on penalties. He aimed to reassure during the meeting with the president and the staff are not expressing particular concern, while he continues to be closely monitored.

The Parisians returned to the pitch for running. Dembélé cut his session short before the other PSG players moved on to some ball work in a practice focused more on technique after the physical work of recent days.
