Chelsea host Benfica for their next Champions League game as they look to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat away to Bayern Munich in their opening match.
It’s set to be a very special evening indeed at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues also hosting their legendary former manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho recently returned for a second spell as Benfica manager shortly after losing his job at Fenerbahce, and he’ll surely get a warm welcome from his old supporters in west London.
Mourinho had two spells as Chelsea manager, winning three Premier League titles in total, as well as other major honours, but what can he do against his former club next Tuesday night?
Fans surely won’t want to miss the chance to attend this game as it’s certainly a big occasion to witness Mourinho back at the Bridge, as well as Chelsea’s first home game at their stadium in three years.

Chelsea have a big squad after another summer of spending, so one imagines Enzo Maresca is still slightly trying to figure out his best XI.
It’s also the time of the season when the fixtures really start piling up, with the Blues also having to navigate the Carabao Cup alongside their Premier League schedule.
Still, we can assume this game will be a priority for Chelsea, so Maresca will surely go as strong as possible, with something like the line-up below while Cole Palmer is out injured…
Chelsea predicted line up: Sanchez; James, Cucurella, Chalobah, Adarabioyo; Caicedo, Fernandez; Neto, Gittens, Garnacho; Pedro.
Judging by some of Mourinho’s selection decisions from his first game in charge, we can probably expect to see something like this from Benfica at Stamford Bridge…
Benfica predicted line-up: Trubin; Otamendi, Silva, Dahl, Dedic; Rios, Sudakov, Barrenechea; Ivanovic, Pavlidis, Aursnes.

Most Chelsea fans will likely be aware of the club’s official ticket page here, but they’ll also probably know that it can be a bit of costly and unreliable way of making it to a game.
In order to avoid membership fees and queues, Chelsea fans would probably do a lot better to check out the alternative we’re providing here.
Benfica’s official ticketing page is located here, and there’s sure to be big demand for a high-profile fixture like this one.
Still, any fans making their way from Portugal could also be well-advised to follow this link here as an affordable and reliable alternative.
Somewhat surprisingly, these teams have only ever met four times before.
Given how often they’re both in the Champions League or the Europa League, it really feels like this is a fixture that should have come up a few more times, but hey, football’s a funny game.
Of those four meetings, Chelsea have won precisely all four of them, including the 2013 Europa League final, and their recent meeting at this summer’s Club World Cup.
