Chelsea ‘admire’ Farioli as English media sketch 2026/27 options | OneFootball

Chelsea sacked Liam Rosenior on Wednesday after five successive Premier League defeats and exits from the Champions League and League Cup. Calum McFarlane was appointed interim head coach until the end of the season. With English media sketching options for 2026/27, O Jogo understands Porto coach Francesco Farioli is not minded to swap his project for Stamford Bridge.

The Guardian reports there is admiration at Chelsea for Cesc Fàbregas of Como and for Farioli. It adds that Xabi Alonso and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola will be available this summer, and that a shortlist of around five to 10 candidates is expected.

In Italy, Corriere dello Sport highlights Bologna’s dream of hiring Farioli, a scenario it deems practically impossible.

Chelsea remain in the FA Cup and face Leeds in a semi-final at Wembley on 26 April. The mission is to secure a place in European competition for 2026/27.

Since BlueCo took ownership in May 2022, the club have used five permanent head coaches, Tuchel, Potter, Pochettino, Maresca and Rosenior.
