In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Chelsea are facing stiff competition for Como playmaker Nico Paz. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to rival Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in pursuit of the Argentine attacker.

Paz’s Impressive Form In Italian Football This Season

Paz is having a decent campaign at the Italian club as he put in a string of eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old has registered six goals and seven assists in 30 matches for Como this season across all competitions.

The gifted talent has been a consistent performer on the offensive end of the field based on his average of 3.1 shots, 1.6 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A football. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 83.6% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for the Blues to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Paz can strike the ball with power from long range and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He has even got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third. The Argentina international mainly operates in the number ten position but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a centre-forward if asked to do so.

However, it remains to be seen whether Paz can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Chelsea manage to bring him on board this summer.

The Argentine sensation would inject more quality and depth into the West London club’s attack. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 20, the future looks quite promising for Paz as long as he continues to improve with each year. Thus, he would be well worth the fight, so Chelsea would be wise to step up their efforts to land him this off-season.
