Chelsea paid £92 million to bring Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens to Stamford Bridge last summer.

Unfortunately, neither forward has delivered the goods, and they could be forced to return to the market to correct their huge mistake.

There are not many options in the market. However, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford could be an option.

He has excelled on loan in Spain, bagging 14 goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances.

However, Barcelona are still not jumping at the chance to sign him for £26 million, creating an opportunity for Chelsea.

Rashford would be a stellar signing for Chelsea, giving them the lethal force they have been missing in attack. He has been described as a ‘fantastic player‘.

Chelsea desperately needed someone to step up when Cole Palmer’s numbers dwindled, but Gittens and Garnacho failed the test.

Rashford is the kind of forward the Blues were crying out for in that moment.

If they can get one or both of Garnacho and Gittens off the books this summer, Rashford would be a cost-effective replacement.

If the opportunity arises, Chelsea need not think twice about signing him.

The Blues are reportedly open to offers for Garnacho. The same should apply to Gittens, as his numbers are worse than the Argentine’s.

They need to seize any possible offer to get both of them off the books.
