Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Manchester United for winger Alejandro Garnacho.
The Telegraph report that the deal for the Argentina international is worth between £35m and £40m, with talks yet to conclude, but the west London side are confident that United will lower their original asking price of £50m.
Garnacho is viewed as a bigger priority than RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons, who has emerged as a target for Tottenham, and his potential signing will see him fight with Jamie Gittens for the spot on the left-hand side.
Sky Sports say that Newcastle United are expected to return with an improved offer of £60m for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen after already seeing two bids worth £50m and £55m turned down. Wolves see Strand Larsen as not for sale this summer, having just signed him on a permanent deal for £23m after a successful loan spell last season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are looking for further options at central defence after agreeing to loan 18-year-old defender Luka Vuskovic to Bundesliga side Hamburg for this season, report the Standard. The deal for the young Croatian is a straight loan with no option to make it permanent, with Spurs wanting Vuskovic to get more first-team exposure.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City have told Tottenham they have no intention to let Savinho leave the club this summer, even if it is above a fee of £60m. The 21-year-old Brazilian is seen as a key player for Pep Guardiola’s side, with this also affecting City’s pursuit of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.
Finally, Sunderland are trying to convince West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd to join them this summer, but the Black Cats face challenges from Marseille, Roma and AC Milan for the 29-year-old Moroccan, according to Footmercato.
Aguerd, who spent last season on loan at Spanish side Real Sociedad, has returned to the West Ham fold under current manager Graham Potter though has been rumoured to be on his way out the club, with Regis Le Bris’ side seen as a potential destination. The newly promoted side are actively looking for a central defender.
