In a recent report, Quotidiano Sportivo mentioned that Chelsea are in the running to recruit Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic. It has been claimed that the Blues would have to compete with Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the Serbian talent next year.

Vlahovic’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Vlahovic has made an impressive start to this campaign as he has put in a series of impressive displays for Juve in the final third. The Serbian talent has found the back of the net four times and earned one assist in eight appearances for the Turin giants this season in various competitions.

The Serbia international has led the charge well and deserves credit for averaging 2.83 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 42.9% of his attempts on target. However, Vlahovic has to find a way to improve his link-up play in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 58.6% in the Italian top tier (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, the Blues could potentially sign him on a free transfer next summer.

What Will Vlahovic Bring To Chelsea?

Vlahovic is proficient at creating a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates to score.

The Serbian sensation is a strong runner with the ball as well and can also use his strong 1.90m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Blues manage to sign him.

We can expect Vlahovic to bring more goals to Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca’s frontline. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 25, Vlahovic has got his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great choice for the Blues to consider next year. Furthermore, he is currently on an expiring contract and would prove to be an affordable option for the Blues to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign.
