Chelsea fans stage new protest against BlueCo before FA Cup final showdown against Man City

Blues supporters have made their feelings clear once again

Chelsea supporters staged a protest against the club’s ownership ahead of taking on Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

A handful of disaffected supporters marched on Wembley Way to voice their frustrations with Chelsea’s BlueCo owners.

Despite reaching the FA Cup final, it has been a dismal season for Chelsea, who are ninth in the Premier League and sacked Liam Rosenior last month after just 107 days in charge.

The Blues have been beset by player unrest and recorded the biggest pre-tax loss in Premier League history at the start of April.

They avoided becoming the first team in English football history to lose seven consecutive league matches heading into a domestic cup final when they secured a 1-1 draw away to Liverpool last weekend.

Protest organisers, Not A Project CFC, exclusively told Standard Sport that they believe relegation is possible if the club continues to head in the same direction.

“As much as I have found it amusing watching Tottenham Hotspur at times this season, I do agree with the sentiment among our fanbase that that could very easily be us in the next few years. I genuinely believe that relegation is possible for a club like us,” a spokesperson for Not A Project CFC said.

“I thought it was absolutely impossible when BlueCo bought the club, but now I see it as very possible.”

Starting at Wembley Park station at 1:30pm, supporters gathered before unfurling two banners, one reading ‘BlueCoOut’ and the other ‘The clowns who destroyed Chelsea’, accompanied by pictures of Chelsea’s board.

No more than 50 supporters then marched down Wembley Way, with chants of “We want our Chelsea back” and “F*** *** Eghbali” in reference to Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali.

The protest was smaller in number than the one staged ahead of their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in Rosenior’s penultimate game in charge.
