In a recent report, La Gazzetta dello Sport stated that Chelsea have set their sights on Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso. It has been revealed that the Blues have identified the Italian defender as a target for this summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a solid campaign at the Turin club as he produced a string of impressive displays for them in Serie A. Cambiaso did well to score three goals and earn five assists in 47 matches for Juventus last season in multiple competitions.
The Italian talent is currently one of the best left-backs in Serie A. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Blues are eyeing a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge this off-season.
His current contract at the Allianz Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Chelsea to land him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Cambiaso is a tough-tackling full-back, who can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive third of the field. He doesn’t hesitate to clear the danger when the opposition are on the offensive.
The Italian sensation can strike the ball well from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. Cambiaso is primarily a left-back but can also function as a right-back or play as a left-sided wide player if needed. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Blues manage to sign him this summer.
We can expect Cambiaso to add more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting role at Stamford Bridge next season. Furthermore, the Italian could be an ideal replacement for Marc Cucurella if the Blues end up parting ways with him this off-season.
At 26, Cambiaso has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the London giants to consider in this summer transfer period. All in all, Alonso would be wise to go for him later this year.
