Chelsea completed their pre-season campaign in style on Sunday, beating ten-man AC Milan 4-1 at a sunny Stamford Bridge, but picked up some fresh injury worries in the process.
With a Premier League opener against Crystal Palace now less than a week away and Levi Colwill already ruled out for much of the season, Enzo Maresca will not have been thrilled to see Trevoh Chalobah hobble off with an ankle injury.
The Briton went down awkwardly after attempting to tackle Yunus Musah, and looked to be in considerable discomfort as he was seen to by trainers.
But will he be out for long? Here’s a look at the latest Chelsea injury news...

Speaking after the AC Milan friendly, Maresca confirmed that Chalobah’s ankle injury was not as bad as first thought.
The Chelsea faithful would have feared the worst as he looked to be in serious pain after twisting his ankle, but those fears were allayed when he took part in the latest Club World Cup trophy celebration at full-time.
And speaking at full-time, Maresca confirmed he would be fit to face Crystal Palace: “[Chalobah] is ok. It was too hot, so he decided to go out.”

Romeo Lavia has not featured for Chelsea since completing 85 minutes in a round of 16 win over Benfica at the Club World Cup.
He suffered a ‘small muscle problem’ between that match and the quarter-final win over Palmeiras, and has not been pictured in training since.
The severity of his injury remains unclear.
Potential return date: Unknown
Wesley Fofana has proven rather injury-prone since moving to Chelsea from Leicester in 2022. He has made just 34 competitive appearances since making the move from the King Power to Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman returned to training this summer after his latest thigh injury, and Maresca has confirmed he could feature in the Blues’ Premier League opener.
The Italian said: “He will be available for Palace. We are very happy because he is an important player.”
His minutes will likely be managed, though, as the club look to prevent a repeat injury. He has not participated in either of the club’s pre-season friendlies.

Chelsea’s defensive injuries were compounded when Benoit Badiashile picked up a knock in their Club World Cup win over Benfica.
The Frenchman was not in the squad for either of Chelsea’s pre-season friendlies last week, but is thought to be in individual training at Chelsea’s Cobham training base.
He is due to return in September, though, according to reports in Football.London.

Levi Colwill appears to be the first victim of Chelsea’s hectic 2025 schedule.
After impressing at the Club World Cup, he picked up an ACL injury in training after returning from a brief summer break and has since undergone surgery.
He is expected to miss most of the 2025-26 season.
A statement published on Chelsea’s official website on Thursday read: “Defender Levi Colwill has today undergone successful surgery to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
“Levi will now begin his recovery and be supported by the club's medical department at Cobham during his rehabilitation phase.”
