Chelsea legend John Terry set to buy League Two club for £14m

Chelsea legend John Terry is set to become the new owner of League Two side Colchester United.
According to The Sun, the former England international will spearhead a consortium to buy Colchester in a deal worth £14 million.
Terry will follow in the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds, Snoop Dogg and Will Ferrell by owning a football club in the English Football League (EFL).
The 45-year-old is expected to have a huge influence over the footballing side of the club.
Terry is said to be really excited about becoming Colchester’s new owner.
The U’s currently sit 13th in League Two after winning 16 and losing 14 of their 42 matches this season.
The Essex-based side have been playing in fourth-tier since their relegation from League One in 2016. They spent two seasons in the Championship between 2006 and 2008.
Terry is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of his generation.
He spent 19 years at Chelsea, making 717 appearances across all competitions and scoring 67 goals.
The ex-England star helped the Blues win five Premier League titles as well as the Champions League in 2012.
He also earned 78 caps for the Three Lions, scoring six goals.
Terry is currently working as Chelsea’s academy coach, having recently qualified with a FIFA Diploma in Club Management. He is set to continue his role at the West London club.
