Chelsea made an enquiry for former Flamengo full-back Wesley, but Roma signalled they are not open to a deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Roma view Wesley as one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s key players.
A right-back by trade, he has been used on the left flank under Gasperini. He made 39 appearances in 2025/26, scoring five goals with two assists.
That form brought a World Cup call-up for Brazil, but a grade three thigh muscle injury in a pre-tournament friendly forced his withdrawal.
Roma signed Wesley from Flamengo in July 2025 after the FIFA Club World Cup, paying 25 million euros fixed, plus five million euros in add-ons, worth R$161.4 million and R$32.2 million.
He left Flamengo after 139 games with four goals and six assists, winning the Copa do Brasil in 2024 and part of the 2025 Libertadores and Brasileirão title-winning campaigns.
The 2026 second window runs from 20 July to 11 September. Flamengo plan to recruit two players, a centre-forward and a left-back, to reshape the squad for the run-in.
