Ingle’s injury was assessed by the Chelsea medical team along with a knee specialist and it was confirmed that she has ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). The player will now undergo surgery before beginning a lengthy period of rehabilitation. Ingle is not expected to return to competitive action before the end of this season.

News of Ingle’s injury is a real blow for Chelsea who kick-off their Barclays Women’s Super League title defence this weekend. The Blues begin the 2024/2025 campaign with a fixture against Robert de Pauw’s new-look Aston Villa side at Kingsmeadow on Friday night. Ingle will be needed to use her experience off the field in the coming weeks and months.
