Nicolas Jackson is “very much” expected to be a Chelsea player once the transfer window has closed according to journalist Bobby Vincent.
Speculation has increased about Jackson’s future following the arrival of both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, who have both made an impact.
Jackson was left on the bench for the Club World Cup final, and now faces genuine competition for his place for the first time in his Chelsea career.
Jackson endured a mixed season in which he scored ten Premier League goals, although he did score an important goal in the Conference League final.
The 24-year-old entered the Club World Cup as Chelsea’s first choice striker, but arguably ended it as their third following a disappointing campaign.

Jackson failed to find the back of the net, and was handed a two match suspension after being sent off in the defeat to Flamengo.
AC Milan are said to be interested in Jackson, although it’s thought the Senegal international is too expensive for the Italians.
Manchester United are thought to be monitoring Jackson, with Aston Villa also said to be interested, but Vincent has now provided an update on his future.
He took to X.com and said:
“Nicolas Jackson very much expected to be a Chelsea player beyond September 1 deadline.
“Clear interest in 24yo striker, though Blues’ valuation likely to be too expensive for most.
“Chelsea plan on having two out-and-out No.9s + a versatile forward to choose from for 2025/26 season. #CFC”
Despite making three attacking signings, the possibility of signing another hasn’t been entirely ruled out, with the Blues linked to several names.
