Blues put midweek Champions League disappointment behind them
Chelsea moved second in the Premier League with a 3-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues made hard work of their managerless visitors initially and the game remained goalless at half-time.
But Alejandro Garnacho assisted Malo Gusto for his first senior goal to break the deadlock, and then Joao Pedro scored his fourth league goal.
Pedro Neto made absolutely sure all three points would go to Enzo Maresca’s side when he scored from Garnacho’s cross, netting against his former employers.
Standard Sport’s Dom Smith was at Stamford Bridge to rate the Chelsea players’ performances…
Robert Sanchez 6
Kept a clean sheet but had very, very little to do on a night when Wolves offered such little threat.
Malo Gusto 8
Scored his very first senior goal to get Chelsea up and running and never stopped running after that. Excellent performance.
Trevoh Chalobah 6
Steady performance from the centre-back, who did not have much to deal with by way of threat from the visitors.
Wesley Fofana 7
Good in possession, cantering forward with the ball and playing it invariably ahead of him.
Marc Cucurella 7
Like Gusto, worked tirelessly and covered an awful lot of ground for Maresca’s men.
Moises Caicedo 7
He was everywhere on a night when Chelsea had a little trouble in midfield at moments until it opened up. Booked for a few too many fouls but equally impressive intercepting.
Enzo Fernandez 7
The Argentine international saw plenty of the ball and distributed it well. Subbed late on.
Pedro Neto 7
A quiet-ish performance until he scored against his former side, against whom he had no issue celebrating.
Joao Pedro 7
After a bad miss in the first half, will have been delighted to notch his fourth league goal of the campaign - and from compatriot Estevao Willian’s deflected pull-back.
Alejandro Garnacho 8
A highly effective outing from the winger, who assisted both Gusto’s opening goal and the third for Neto.
The striker made his first start since injuring himself against Fulham in August but struggled with the physicality of the Wolves back three and was the first Chelsea player substituted.
