Chelsea-Real Madrid transfer talks denied | OneFootball

Claims of ongoing negotiations between Real Madrid and Chelsea over a deal for Rodrygo have late this week been firmly denied.

This comes amid the assurance that the Blues are not actively pursuing a deal for the Brazilian at present.

As per a report from market expert Fabrizio Romano:

‘No talks are taking place between Chelsea and Rodrygo for January window despite links from Brazil.’

Despite the denial of Chelsea’s rumoured talks with Real Madrid, the possibility of Rodrygo departing the latter in January remains very much on the table.

The 24-year-old has endured a hugely underwhelming campaign to date, failing to rediscover his brilliant best under the watch of new head coach Xabi Alonso.

All told, stretching back to last season, Rodrygo has failed to find the net in any of his last 28 appearances in Real Madrid colours across all competitions.

Such woes have culminated in just a trio of starts to this point in the new term.
