In a recent post on X, journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that Chelsea are in the running to sign AIK winger Zadok Yohanna. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to rival Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion in the race to land the Nigerian wide player this summer.

Yohanna’s Impressive Rise In Swedish Football

The 18-year-old enjoyed a good run of form at the Swedish club after he put in a series of eye-catching displays for them in the final third. Yohanna deserves credit for netting five goals and grabbing four assists in 12 matches for AIK last season across all competitions.

The Nigerian talent is currently one of the most promising young wide players in Allsvenskan. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Blues are in the mix to secure his services in this transfer window.

Yohanna’s current contract at the Swedish club will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Chelsea Are In The Running For Yohanna: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Yohanna can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He can even shoot the ball well from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the pitch.

The Nigerian talent can even use his strong 1.84m frame to win a few aerial duels. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him on board this summer.

We can expect Yohanna to enhance the quality of Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s frontline in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good rotational player for the West London club.

At 18, Yohanna has got a very promising future ahead as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, Alonso would be wise to lure him to Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer period. However, the Blues would have to be patient with his progress before they can get the best out of the gifted winger.
