Both teams could be boosted by the return of key players for the London derby

The top two in the Premier League, going into this weekend, do battle as Chelsea host Arsenal in a high stakes London derby.

Just six points separates the two London rivals in the table and Enzo Maresca’s side will be full of confidence having produced a statement win over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Both teams could be boosted by the return of key players from injury. For Chelsea, there’s hope Cole Palmer will be available for selection after a two-month lay-off.

Palmer returned to full training earlier than expected after suffering a setback in his bid to make a comeback from a troublesome groin issue and may be included in the squad against the Gunners.

Elsewhere, Enzo Maresca has the option of recalling either Joao Pedro or Liam Delap to lead the line for Chelsea, while there are calls for Estevao to start following his stunning goal against Barcelona.

As for Arsenal, Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz could be back for the London derby. The former has been absent since the 2-0 win over Burnley and the latter has not featured since the opening weekend of the season.

Speaking earlier in the week, Mikel Arteta was confident of bolstering his attacking options for the short trip to Stamford Bridge.

However, Leandro Trossard is doubtful after limping off in the first half against Bayern Munich, with Gabriel Martinelli and ex-Chelsea winger Noni Madueke on standby to replace the Belgian.
