Chelsea host newly-crowned champions Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League this weekend.
Enzo Maresca’s side are targeting a fourth consecutive win in all competitions as the Blues battle for Champions League qualification and Europa Conference League success. On Thursday, the West Londoners took control of their European semi-final with Swedish side Djurgardens, winning 4-1 away from home.
Chelsea are also fifth in the Premier League table, a position that will earn Champions League qualification. However, the visit of Liverpool begins a challenging run-in.
Liverpool wrapped up the Premier League title with a 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday. Arne Slot has suggested he will offer opportunities to his squad players over the run-in, with Liverpool’s title success confirmed with four games to spare.
Robert Sanchez missed the midweek trip to Sweden but his absence was believed to be a pre-caution. The Spaniard is expected to start in goal.
Chelsea remain without Wesley Fofana, whose season is over, and Mykhailo Mudryk. The latter remains provisionally suspended after an adverse finding in a doping test. Youngsters Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman are also still sidelined.
Malo Gusto returned to the bench at Djurgardens after a recent knock.
Chelsea predicted XI: Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez, Palmer; Madueke, Neto, Jackson.
Chelsea host Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday 4th May 2025. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 16:30 BST.
The game will be shown live in the UK by Sky Sports.
