Chelsea are now going to have to dip into the transfer market this summer after the latest big news has surfaced this weekend.

This comes off the back of The Blues beating Tottenham 1-0 on Thursday night at Stamford Bridge in their last Premier League match and that has put them in a very good position to get Champions League football this season now.

Chelsea really need to be playing in the Champions League next season and it will have its just rewards financially if they can seal it. Beating Brentford today will go a long way in helping them get Champions League football back at The Bridge for next season.

But The Bees will not be an easy opposition to face, and Enzo Maresca will once again have some big calls to make in his starting Xl.

Welsey Fofana is out of course after it was confirmed that he will miss the rest of this season after undergoing successful hamstring surgery this weekend.

There is a sense though that Nicolas Jackson might also miss out from the start today due to playing on Thursday after a long period out with injury.

There is no way we can rely on Fofana going forward and really, we need to now spend big on a new centre back this summer because Fofana is just never available and I would not have any trust in him being available much more going forward.

He appears to be made of glass after going through more surgery to try and sort out another injury issue. He is of course a class defender when he is fit, but that’s the problem, he is very rarely fit and we only seem to have him in short stints.
