A Chelsea writer has put out his predicted Blues Xl to face Nottingham Forest today and there is one big name who misses out.

The Blues face Nottingham Forest this afternoon in what has become a Champions League Play Off game, at least an unofficial one. There are other clubs involved in these Play Offs as well and anything can happens. Chelsea just have to make sure they beat Forest in order to guarantee Champions League qualification. Their goal difference is far superior to that of Aston Villa, so even if they finish on the same points then it should be Chelsea who get through.

Maresca speaks to the media

The Blues boss has faced the media in the pre-match press conference last week, and some of the quotes have been filtering through each day on the lead up to the big game.

He has already confirmed that he has attackers Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku back and available for the squad, which is a huge boost seeing as Nicolas Jackson is still suspended.

He has also snapped back at fickle critiques of his Chelsea team and how different it has been since Christmas time when they were second in the league.

Predicted Xl

For the big game, Football London’s Chelsea writer Tom Coley has predicted this to be the starting Xl that Enzo Maresca will pick:

Robert Sanchez; Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella; Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer; Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto.

Personally I would be starting Romeo Lavia, who is the big name that misses out. I’d put him in for Sancho and then put Palmer out wide on the right with Neto playing as a false 9. I’d also think about having Tosin Adarabioyo starting simply to deal with the height and physicality of Forest in attack.
