Chelsea make the trip to Everton on Sunday afternoon, with a chance to move top of the Premier League table.
Enzo Maresca’s side are searching for a sixth straight win in the Premier League, having closed the gap on leaders Liverpool to two points.
The West Londoners wrapped up their Europa Conference League group phase with a perfect record on Thursday night, as a second-string side thrashed Shamrock Rovers 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.
However, Everton have a strong recent record in this fixture. The Toffees have won five of the last six encounters between the teams at Goodison Park. Sean Dyche’s side held Arsenal to a goalless draw last weekend and have four clean sheets in their last five games.
Marc Cucurella is suspended for the clash after the Spaniard was sent off for two late bookings against Brentford last weekend. The left-back joins Mykhailo Mudryk as unavailable for the clash, with the Ukrainian provisionally suspended after an adverse result in a drug test sample.
Benoit Badiashile missed the win over Brentford and Tosin Adarabioyo could be handed another start at centre-back. Enzo Maresca revealed this week that Reece James is getting closer to a return but the clash comes too soon for the Chelsea captain. Wesley Fofana is also out with a hamstring issue.
Chelsea: Sanchez; Gusto, Adarabioyo, Disasi, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernandez; Sancho, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.
Everton host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday 22nd December 2024. Kick-off at Goodison Park is 14:00 GMT.
Everton vs Chelsea will not be televised in the United Kingdom.
