There is a huge relief at Chelsea after the Blues bounced back from three bad results with a huge win over Aston Villa. Joao Pedro bagged a hattrick as Liam Rosenior’s team tore apart Villa time and again with vicious counter attacks.

If you wanted that dominance summed up in one stat, it would be this – that’s the most xG Chelsea have generated all season, as Sky Sports’ Adam Bate pointed out:

“This is Chelsea’s highest expected goals total of the season. It is Aston Villa’s highest expected goals against total of the season. Emphatic.”

Chelsea finally show great maturity and attacking threat to win

Not only was it a great attacking performance, it was also just great to see the team go a goal down, in a tricky away game under a lot of pressure, then come back to win.

That shows a lot of maturity, a lot of courage and a lot of mental fortitude. Liam Rosenior will be so proud of his team, and he should be proud of himself too.

In other news…

Chelsea killed the game off with two lovely counter attack goals as Villa totally failed to deal with Garnacho on the counter.

Joao Pedro got his second goal after a lovely Enzo Fernandez assist, the Brazilian dinked the keeper nicely.

JP’s first goal was a lovely one too, with Enzo Fernandez playing in Malo Gusto down the right and the Frenchman sliding the ball across the box.
