Chivas put together a Clausura 2026 regular season that will go down as one of the most complete and historic in recent tournaments. The Rebaño Sagrado not only showed consistency in results, but also a solid structure that led them to establish themselves as the second-best offense in the tournament, while also holding the top spot in the standings for 16 matchdays.

One of the main pillars of their campaign was their strength at home. At Estadio Akron, Chivas remained unbeaten for 13 consecutive matches, turning their stadium into a true fortress. That consistency was reflected in the 36 points they earned, a figure that surpasses their previous best record in short tournaments, set in Clausura 2017, reaffirming the team’s strong performance this season.

On an individual level, the attack was led by Armando González, “La Hormiga,” who established himself as one of the team’s top scorers, contributing 12 goals during the tournament. He had also been the top scorer in Apertura 2025, also with 12 goals.

However, Guadalajara found key support in several players who proved fundamental to the team’s collective performance. Daniel Aguirre, Bryan González, and Efraín Álvarez became quiet but decisive pillars throughout the 17 matchdays.

Aguirre stood out for his total versatility: he played as a right center-back, full-back, and even as a midfielder, always maintaining a high and consistent level. His game reading and adaptability made him one of the team’s most reliable players, also contributing directly with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Meanwhile, Bryan González was the tireless engine on the left flank. Alternating between wing-back and center-back, his intensity and forward runs were constant. He recorded 3 goals and 4 assists, becoming a key asset thanks to his aggressiveness in one-on-one situations and his ability to create advantages over long distances, in addition to being one of the players with the highest physical workload on the squad.

In attack, Efraín Álvarez took on the role of creative playmaker. His vision, technique, and ability to thread passes between the lines gave meaning to the team’s offensive play. With 1 goal and 3 assists, he was a difference-maker, especially in tight matches where his talent helped break down defensive structures.

With the work done this tournament and after turning the page following the draw against Xolos, Chivas now focuses on the playoffs, where they will face Tigres in a series that promises intensity. The “Rebaño” will look to carry their strong form into the final phase and confirm they are ready to compete for the championship.
