Chivas Femenil managed to handle a very tough and demanding match against Cruz Azul to return to Guadalajara with a point in the bag, after a goalless draw this Saturday afternoon at Estadio Centenario de Morelos, in Matchday 2 action of the Clausura 2026. With this result, Antonio Contreras’ team reached 4 points in the tournament.
It was a clash of power versus power, as both teams showed their strength on the field. Guadalajara took advantage of the speed of its attackers to try to create danger, while remaining compact defensively to limit the hosts’ attempts. Despite generating promising chances up front, luck didn’t favor the Rebaño in the final touch to break the deadlock.
Chivas Femenil will continue its CL26 campaign when it hosts Santos next January 18 at 11 AM at Estadio AKRON.
Key Chances
At the 6th minute, Denise Castro received the ball on the left, spun brilliantly away from two defenders and struck with her right foot, but Godínez saved it.
At the 41st minute, 'Caro' Jaramillo broke away down the right, entered the box and aimed for the far post, but the goalkeeper’s dive denied the goal.
At the 58th minute, once again the 'Comandante' beat her marker on the flank, cut inside and laid the ball off for 'Jas', who struck it first-time, but a defender’s leg blocked it.
- So close for ‘Licha’! At the 67th minute, Chivas launched a lightning-fast counterattack between Jaramillo and Casarez, ending with a shot from Eva González and a close intervention from Cervantes, who couldn’t finish comfortably after Godínez closed down the angle.
