Christian Pulisic has been ruled out of the United States’ World Cup group D match against Australia in Seattle on Friday at 21:00, head coach Mauricio Pochettino announced. The forward has a calf injury.
His availability had been earmarked for a late decision on Thursday. The call has gone against him.

Pulisic has 87 caps and 33 goals for the national team.
He was withdrawn at half-time as a precaution in the opening game, a 4-1 win over Paraguay last Friday.
He trained only sparingly this week and could return for the final group fixture, overnight from Thursday to Friday next week against Türkiye, at four am French time.
