Ciro Immobile (36) is expected to remain a Paris FC player next season, according to reports in Le Parisien.
Whilst a release clause could have been triggered this summer, both parties have decided to continue their partnership for a further year. Having joined Paris last February from Bologna FC, the Italian enjoyed a somewhat mixed second half of the season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
Although he is not expected to be a first-team regular – with his club still on the hunt for a centre-forward – Immobile is nevertheless regarded by the club’s management as a significant source of experience, both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Having made 57 appearances for the Azzurri (scoring 17 goals), the Torre Annunziata-born player has racked up more than 700 professional matches since the start of his career. A legend at SS Lazio, where he is the all-time leading goalscorer, Immobile has also played for Borussia Dortmund, Besiktas JK and Sevilla FC during his long career on the football pitch.
