Manchester City capped off a superb 2025/26 season with a commanding 4-0 win over Brighton to lift the Adobe Women’s FA Cup at Wembley for a fourth time in their history.
The Blues were in control from start to finish and produced a clinical display in the final third. Captain Alex Greenwood set the tone with a well-placed 20-yard free-kick in the first half, giving City a deserved lead after Brighton had shown early promise and carried a threat through Fran Kirby and Kiko Seike.
Khadija Shaw once again proved decisive on the big stage, heading in City’s second shortly before half-time and later turning provider with a fine assist for Aoba Fujino to make it 3-0. The Jamaican striker, who recently committed her future to the club, was at the heart of everything good for City.
Vivianne Miedema added the finishing touch late on, rounding off a composed and professional performance from Andrée Jeglertz’s side.
Brighton, playing in their first major final, worked hard and had spells where they looked competitive, but they were ultimately undone by City’s quality and ruthlessness in both boxes.
The victory completes a historic domestic double for City, who have also been crowned WSL champions, marking the first time they have achieved the feat and placing them alongside Chelsea and Arsenal as the only clubs to do so.
