Pep Guardiola’s City squad have set off to the United States for this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.

All 27 players named in the confirmed squad on Wednesday afternoon, along with Guardiola’s coaching staff are en route to the inaugural expanded edition of the tournament taking place across the US.

That includes the four new signings who agreed moves to City in the first of two summer transfer windows; Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettenelli, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders.

Since the end of the Premier League season last month, many of our squad have been involved in international fixtures around the world.

Those not with their national sides enjoyed a break before returning to the City Football Academy earlier this week.

The competition itself begins in the early hours of Sunday morning for UK audiences, but we won’t play until Wednesday 18 June, when we face Moroccan club Wydad AC in Philadelphia at 17:00 (UK).

After that, we play Al Ain at 02:00 (UK) in Atlanta and Juventus at 20:00 (UK) in Orlando.

The top two sides in Group G will then progress to the Round of 16, where single-leg knockout ties will be played all the way to the final at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday 13 July.

Upon arrival, City's focus will be on acclimatising to the conditions in the US and training ahead of our tournament opener.
