The Lionesses will host Spain at Wembley before travelling to Iceland as their campaign to reach next summer’s major tournament continues.

City’s trio’s inclusion follows another strong Barclays Women’s Super League showing by Andrée Jeglertz’s side where we remained unbeaten across three top-flight fixtures in March.

A battling 0-0 draw away with Aston Villa was followed with a superb 5-2 home victory over Spurs before an emphatic 3-0 success away at Old Trafford.

Greenwood, Blindkilde Brown and Hemp played instrumental roles in the results which moved the Blues to 49 points and needing only five from our final three league matches to win the title.

Sarina Wiegman’s side currently sit at the top of Group A3 after beating Ukraine and Iceland in their opening two qualifiers and welcome Spain to Wembley on Tuesday 14 April, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 (UK).

The Lionesses then travel to Iceland on Saturday 18 April for a 17:30 (UK) start at Laugardalsvollur.

As ever, there will be City-centric reports on matches involving Blues players across the pause in domestic football.
