Club América Femenil tops Orlando Pride and advances to semifinals

MEXICO CITY – The 2025 Concacaf W Champions Cup continued with Club América Femenil earning a 2-nil win against Orlando Pride in Group A on Tuesday at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico.
Kiana Palacios opened the scoring in the 7’ with a left-footed shot to convert on a rebound. Bruna Vilamala struck on target on the previous play but was denied by Orlando goalkeeper McKinley Crone.
Jana Gutiérrez extended the lead in the 75’, striking inside the six-yard box after playing off the give-and-go with Irene Guerrero.
Sandra Paños made five saves to collect the clean sheet, her second of the campaign, as the América defense concluded the Group Stage without conceding a goal.
Club América Femenil sealed first place in the group with a 3-1-0 record and 10 points. As a result, Las Águilas booked its place in the W Champions Cup Finals.
Orlando Pride remains in second place with a 2-0-1 record and six points. The U.S. club will host CF Pachuca Femenil to conclude group play on October 15.
